Homemade & Homecoming for 2025
The before shots:
50 Years. One Bike. A Legacy in Motion.
Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson | Homecoming Rally 2025 Custom Street Glide
This is just the beginning—a surface-level scratch at what makes this one-of-a-kind motorcycle so special. It represents 122 years of Harley-Davidson innovation, infused with a subtle nod to Electric Light Display (ELD) and bold creativity.
At its core, it also reflects 50 years of Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson—a family-owned and operated dealership that’s helped shape the custom motorcycle world since Wayne and Joan Houpt opened our doors. From the showroom floor to the open road, Joe Houpt and the Suburban family’s fingerprints are all over this machine. But it always honors the brand that has been the heartbeat of motorcycle culture for generations.
Our mission?
Build a show-stopping bike that’s never meant to be trailered. It’s built to ride—and ride hard. To be seen. To be remembered. Join us in celebrating 50 years of Suburban heritage etched into a motorcycle that will forever be part of our legacy.
The Build: Honoring the Street Glide, Reimagined for 2025
What started as a tribute to the iconic Harley-Davidson Street Glide and everything it stands for quickly evolved into something more. As one of six Milwaukee-area dealerships invited to custom-build a Street Glide for the 2025 Homecoming, we dove in with full throttle.
Once we pulled the bike off the truck, we knew:
This had to embody everything “The Famous Wheeler Dealer” stands for—and everything Harley-Davidson has done to push the bagger movement forward.
Like Harley, Suburban Motors H-D has grown over decades—rooted in family and fueled by passion. As our ideas started flowing, the project quickly took on the scale for a couple of months-long build. Yet with deadlines to meet and pride on the line, we re-centered ourselves in the foundation Wayne Houpt laid 50 years ago.
Design Philosophy: Legacy, Innovation, and That ‘Wow’ Factor
First: the color.
The foundation had to be black—a timeless, bold tone that’s been central to Harley’s visual identity for decades. Then came the pop—the eye-catching contrast.
50 years = GOLD.
And what roads do you follow to find “El Dorado”? any road you find joy on! With diffrent names all tossed in the bucket for inspirastion we realised the deeper meaning, you find gold/joy in your bike no matter what you have, then what roads do you ride some are to work, some are to new places or some are to old place with new frends either way you are allways on your to EL Dorado!
With custom cues led by Joe Houpt, a longtime builder and industry insider, we went hands-on with every detail. Family members at the dealership helped handpick Harley-Davidson accessories, while Covering Infinity brought a modern twist with custom hydro-dipping to tie it all together. last but not lest Matt Berlin founder of Speed Metal to craft this wicked sound and look for the exhaust!
Custom Craftsmanship: Built to Ride, Built to Turn Heads
✅ Black + Gold Paint Scheme
✅ Hydro-dipped accents by Covering Infinity
✅ Custom slip-on exhaust designed by Joe Houpt, brought to life by Matt Berlin of Speed Metals
✅ Lowered stance with a big front tire for that commanding street presence
It’s loud. It’s bold. And it’s built for the road—not the trailer.
